When one of our clients was unable to find a scenic artist DEADWOOD Stage Services came to the rescue with image projection.
Using 35mm transparencies in a powerful projector, we 'front projected' images onto the cyclorama to 'set' scenes and then 'burnt' out the lower image area to light the action.
You can judge the effect from the photos below, please bear in mind that the images were projected onto a white painted cyclorama, not a projection screen and the images appeared much brighter and clearer to the human eye than they did to the camera.
The scenes were front lit with various levels of white light, giving a sepia effect to the sets. This complemented well the 1830's setting of the play.
